The latest IPCC report dramatically underlined the need for action to meet the climate targets of the Paris Agreement. At the same time, the conversion of our energy systems to 100% renewables is lagging; citizens are mostly excluded from the process.

The EU Clean Energy Package introduced the “active consumer” as prosumer and their rights to produce, sell and share their own electricity in Renewable Energy Communities (RECs). Currently EU Member States are transposing the new rules (RED II & IEMD) into national law. The national rules differ widely esp. regarding the “enabling framework” for RECs and the economic conditions for energy/electricity sharing.

The conference, which is being organised in the context of the EU funded SCORE project, will explore strategies and present examples on how citizen energy projects can accelerate the energy transformation and ensure a just transition and inclusiveness, which is necessary to reach the aim of climate neutrality. In this light the conference discusses four main themes:
What lessons to be drawn from SCORE pilots & follower city projects for municipalities?
How to activate individual consumers to become prosumers and engage in energy efficiency?
What opportunities and synergies can energy / electricity sharing provide for RECs?
What business opportunities for professional actors from the energy world?

Please feel free to distribute this invitation within your networks.
